GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 425343
make copy(highlight) & paste(middle button) consistent with the rest of the world
Last modified: 2007-04-02 07:41:55 UTC
currently to copy(highlight) & paste(middle button) you HAVE to - highlight some shit - scroll to the place where you want to paste it while being EXTRA CAREFULL not to click inside the text - point the mouse at exact place where you want to paste - click middle button - blinking cursor disappears - cursor while invisible didnt move a thing, so its still one char before the word you highlighted, that means that pressing letter/cursor will teleport you to the place you pasted from while even in this very text input window in my browser I can highlight a word, click like mad whatever/wherever I want, and then click middle button wherever I want to paste that word AS MANY TIMES I like. When you highlight some word in other program window, go back to gedit and try to paste it blinking cursor doesnt disappear, but also doesnt move to the end of pasted text. Other information:
I was tempted to make it an enthancement, but it would not be an enthancement, it would be catching up to the rest of the world :)
