GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 419717
cannot start banshee (given key not present in dictionary.)
Last modified: 2008-02-07 19:37:13 UTC
When starting banshee I got an error. I compiled the newest version from source but still had the same problem. I found out people had the same thing but it was ipod-related in their case, and I don't need ipod support. The error report: An unhandled exception was thrown: The given key was not present in the dictionary. at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2[System.Int32,Banshee.Base.TrackInfo].get_Item (Int32 ) [0x00000] at Banshee.Sources.PlaylistSource.LoadFromDatabase () [0x00000] at Banshee.Sources.PlaylistSource..ctor (Int32 id) [0x00000] at Banshee.Sources.PlaylistUtil.LoadSources () [0x00000] at Banshee.Sources.LibrarySource.LoadPlaylists () [0x00000] at Banshee.Sources.LibrarySource..ctor () [0x00000] at Banshee.Sources.LibrarySource.get_Instance () [0x00000] at Banshee.PlayerUI.OnStartupRunFinished (System.Object o, System.EventArgs args) [0x00000] at (wrapper delegate-invoke) System.MulticastDelegate:invoke_void_object_EventArgs (object,System.EventArgs) at Banshee.Base.ComponentInitializer.OnRunFinished () [0x00000] at Banshee.Base.ComponentInitializer.Run () [0x00000] at Banshee.Base.Globals.Initialize (Banshee.Base.ComponentInitializerHandler interfaceStartupHandler) [0x00000] at Banshee.BansheeEntry.Startup (System.String[] args) [0x00000] at (wrapper delegate-invoke) System.MulticastDelegate:invoke_void_string[] (string[]) at Banshee.Gui.CleanRoomStartup.Startup (Banshee.Gui.StartupInvocationHandler startup, System.String[] args) [0x00000] .NET Version: 2.0.50727.42 Assembly Version Information: glade-sharp (2.10.0.0) Boo.Lang.Compiler (1.0.0.0) Mono.Security (2.0.0.0) Daap (0.11.3.27490) Cleanup (0.0.0.0) Banshee.Plugins.Recommendation (0.12.0.25527) Banshee.Plugins.Radio (0.12.0.25526) Banshee.Plugins.Podcast (0.12.0.25524) Banshee.Plugins.NotificationAreaIcon (0.12.0.25522) Banshee.Plugins.MiniMode (0.12.0.25520) Banshee.Plugins.MetadataSearch (0.12.0.25519) Banshee.Plugins.MMKeys (0.12.0.25521) Banshee.Plugins.Daap (0.12.0.25518) Banshee.Plugins.Audioscrobbler (0.12.0.25516) Alarm (0.1.0.0) njb-sharp (0.3.0.43199) Banshee.Dap.Njb (0.12.0.25515) gnome-vfs-sharp (2.16.0.0) Banshee.Dap.MassStorage (0.12.0.25514) Banshee.MediaEngine.GStreamer (0.12.0.25513) System.Xml (2.0.0.0) System.Transactions (2.0.0.0) gconf-sharp (2.16.0.0) System.Data (2.0.0.0) Mono.Data.SqliteClient (2.0.0.0) pango-sharp (2.10.0.0) Mono.Cairo (2.0.0.0) Hal (0.0.0.0) Banshee.Widgets (0.12.0.25505) Last.FM (0.0.0.0) NDesk.DBus (1.0.0.0) Mono.Posix (2.0.0.0) NDesk.DBus.GLib (1.0.0.0) gnome-sharp (2.16.0.0) gdk-sharp (2.10.0.0) System (2.0.0.0) atk-sharp (2.10.0.0) glib-sharp (2.10.0.0) gtk-sharp (2.10.0.0) Banshee.Base (0.12.0.25509) banshee (0.12.0.25512) mscorlib (2.0.0.0) Platform Information: Linux 2.6.17-11-generic i686 unknown GNU/Linux Disribution Information: [/etc/debian_version] testing/unstable [/etc/lsb-release] DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=6.10 DISTRIB_CODENAME=edgy DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 6.10"
Is this a problem with 0.13.1? Have you tried moving your banshee.db out of your banshee folder?
Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen this bug if you can provide the information asked for. Thanks!
I solved the problem by deleting the music database. On startup banshee made a new one it seems and I added my music to it again. Instead of deleting it moving it to another directory like Andrew pointed out would probably have worked too. Seems like I got so exited about banshee working again I forgot to mention how I got it to work back here though.
(In reply to comment #3) > Seems like I got so exited about banshee working again I forgot to mention how > I got it to work back here though. No problem, I know the feeling. Keep on reporting as you find new bugs. :)
Actually, for what it's worth, this is a duplicate.
Re-closing with correct status. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 354092 ***
