GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 416093
Toolbutton label settings's combobox and italian translation
Last modified: 2008-02-28 10:19:39 UTC
The bug has been opened on: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/87868 "Binary package hint: rhythmbox In Preferences, under the general tab there is a combobox which sets the toolbar label position. But "Testo sotto le icone" put the labels beside icons - not below. "Testo accanto alle icone" put the labels under the icons. Let's give a look at: po/it.po - 130 -> 144 #: ../data/glade/general-prefs.glade.h:4 msgid "" "Default\n" "-\n" "Text below icons\n" "Text beside icons\n" "Icons only\n" "Text only" msgstr "" "Predefinito\n" "-\n" "Testo accanto alle icone\n" "Testo sotto le icone\n" "Solo icone\n" "Solo testo" ## ..this is wrong. Here's a patch (hey, I'm new to diff, if this is not what you want, feel free to tell me how to do a good one =) federico@Time:~/test/rhythmbox-0.9.8/po$ diff it.po it.po.correct 141d140 < "Testo accanto alle icone\n" 142a142 > "Testo accanto alle icone\n" Hope this is enough to correct this bug. ... Sorry - I realize my english is not so good as you (and me, too) might want. I need more practice =) Now, back to the bug. I do like to have "text beside icons" in toolbars, so I used the "Text position" combobox in rhythmbox preferences window. So i noticed a mistake in the italian translation: "text beside icons" ("testo affianco alle icone") was swapped with "text below icons" ("testo sotto le icone"). When using the first one, text was under the icons, while it should have been beside them; when using "testo sotto le icone" (which stands for "text below icons") text was beside them. That is: Italian translation English Wrong behaviour Testo sotto le icone Text below icons Text beside icons Testo affianco allle icone Text beside icons Text below icons This bug is limited to the italian translation of rhythmbox, though. Thank you for the tip about rosetta, feisty et al; I will file a bug/send a patch there. Bye!"
I fixed this issue on trunk and 0-10 branch on gnome SVN. I've also uploaded the translation on rosetta, but I don't know it this issue was fixed. There no simple way in Rosetta to compare rosetta translations with upstream and/or to jump or search a specific message. I'll check in the next days.
This is fixed on latest stable Ubuntu too. Closing bug.
