Description Danielle Madeley 2007-03-01 12:54:44 UTC
When reading technical documentation using Evince, I often find myself wanting to be able to highlight sections of text and/or add annotations on the page. I also often want to quickly change between several sections of a document that may not be near a heading in the document index (if said index exists).

It would be excellent if Evince had a system for being able to highlight text (assuming it is selectable) or add annotations to a page (that popup when you hover over them). Perhaps this could be extended to being able to write directly on pages (for tablet PC people?). These annotations should be quickly locatable in a sidebar page.

They should be automatically saved as they're edited into some Evince directory, but there should be a menu item to import/export them (unless it is perhaps possible to embed them into the files themselves somehow).
