GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 411942
resize images in f-spot --view
Last modified: 2018-07-12 00:06:13 UTC
It would be nice to have an option edit->resize in f-spot --view.
You can resize photos when exporting to flickr/gallery/.../folder. Photos in F-Spot are always kept at their best resolution. You could see them at an archive. If you want resized versions: File - Export to - Folder and set your resolution there.
I can also open a console and use 'convert infile -scale outfile', but I asked for the option and not for another solution.
I was just stating the reason why such an option probably hasn't been implemented.
Hi, no problem. However, in my opinion there is a reason for this option, but take care, that I meant the 'f-spot --view' picture viewer and not the 'normal' database based program. Mike
we'll (very) soon be able to ad edit commands as extension. this is a good (and often requested) candidate
Stephane, has the ability to add edit commands as extensions been built into F-Spot? Is there already an extension available, which I can add to resize photos from within F-Spot (preferably in batches)? This is a very important feature, because one usually ends up clicking photographs in very high resolution, and only after importing them to F-Spot does one realize that only a few are worth keeping in high-res.
Is there a way to vote for bugs?

Maxxer, is the extensions installed by default? Can I add it using extension manager? I'm on Ubuntu 8.04 and my F-Spot version is 0.4.3.1. I couldn't see a resize extension in the Edit > Manage Extensions > Install Add-ins > All registered repositories

F-Spot has moved to https://github.com/f-spot/f-spot/issues If this Bugzilla ticket is still valid in a recent version of F-Spot, please feel free to post this topic as a ticket in the F-Spot project on GitHub. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping as we are planning to shut down GNOME Bugzilla in favor of GNOME Gitlab.
