Description Sven Arvidsson 2007-02-21 14:46:51 UTC
This bug was filed in the Debian BTS.
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=409183

users-admin forgets about any groups the user belongs to when the username is changed by the logged in user.

This only happens if you change the username from the account tab and press ok. If you first visit the privileges tab and from there press ok, the groups seem to be preserved.

I haven't had the opportunity to try the 2.17 series of g-s-t yet, so I can't say if the bug applies to later versions.

users-admin doesn't allow anymore to change login name, so this bug is fixed as a consequence
