Description BRPocock-Bugzilla 2007-02-19 23:55:20 UTC
What were you doing when the application crashed?
opened gnucash; began entering new transaction record into Assets/Cash in Wallet entry as soon as splash screen cleared. App may have still been initializing? (Sorry, no debug symbols) This has happened before when immediately doing something after launching app -- may be a race-type condition/need to wait for the app to "settle" further before enabling the UI?

Thanks for reporting this problem (duplicate of bug#364946, also bug#398779 bug#405228 have both interesting additional explanations). This is a serious issue which we would like to fix, but unfortunately none of us developers has been able to reproduce the crash in a reliable way (i.e. every time).

If you are interested in helping: Can you install the package gtk2-debuginfo and gnucash-debuginfo? Then, is there a sequence of keystrokes / mouseclicks that will lead to this crash *every time*? Also, could you check whether you have accessibility enabled (might be called assistive input technology or similar)? Does this crash still occur if you disable accessibility?

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but the maintainers need more information to fix the bug. Could you please answer the questions in the other report in order to help the developers?
