Description Don Allen 2007-02-03 16:22:04 UTC
Please describe the problem:
In the register display, the Balance column shows only the low-order digits of the balance if the column is too narrow to display all the digits. This can, of course, fool you into believing the balance, which may be grossly incorrect (an order-of-magnitude or more).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Display a register that has a balance with enough digits to be interesting.
2. Narrow the balance column enough and you will see what I'm talking about.
3.

Actual results:

Expected results:
I think the standard *****, or some such, as is typically used by spreadsheet programs, should be displayed, clearly indicating that the column is too narrow to display the balance completely.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Fair enough.

In the register re-write, we might be able to leverage "auto-elipsize", as well.
