If the window tasklist is set to only display windows from the current workspace, windows with the urgent hint set get displayed reguardless of which workspace they are on. However one cannot get to these urgent windows using the window switching keystroke. One has to switch to the desktop they are on and then use to keystroke to bring them to focus.
