Description Sven Arvidsson 2007-01-30 15:22:40 UTC
This bug was filed in the Debian BTS.
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=352875

"Using file-roller on an archive called foo.tar-1.bz2 only shows
foo.tar-1 as the contents, not the actual contents of the archive. If I
try to open that foo.tar-1 directly (after bunzipping it), then
file-roller tells me that the archive type is not supported. Just
renaming the file fixes the problem.

I suppose the bug is that file-roller trusts the file name rather than
the actual contents (or their magic numbers)."
