Steps to reproduce:
1. Get all headers of a selected group
2. Switch to another group
3. Withing recently switched to group filter messages by subject or author

Result Pan crashes, easy reproduce, might take few tries, let me know if you are not able to reproduce, I got for stake trace then to submit.

Also, what version of gtk do you have installed?
