GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 399175
Endless loop when opening archive from w3m
Last modified: 2020-11-11 19:11:32 UTC
This bug was filed in the Debian BTS. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=297195 This bug is similar or related to bug 165383. "When "clicking" a zip the archive manager (file roller) is opened, but it keeps saying "Reading archive" (with Archive: w3mtmp9714-0.zip as an example of a filename) and does that forever. Downloading the file manually and opening it with file-roller works fine. Just not from w3m..." I can reproduce it with this URL: http://www.msxarchive.nl/pub/msx/utils/othersys/DSKIMG.ZIP If I strace file-roller, I see a lot of, waitpid(25150, 0xbf9dd78c, WNOHANG) = -1 ECHILD (No child processes)
bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time. If you still use file-roller and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/file-roller/-/issues/ Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (volunteer workforce and time is limited).
