Description Vincent Untz 2007-01-21 17:16:23 UTC
Using dmidecode, I can get this information:

        Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
        Product Name: M6Ne
        Serial Number: <serial-number>
        UUID: <some UUID>

It'd be great to have this in the hardware category of the system tab. I don't know if it's possible without root access, though.

I don't feel like depending on yet another extern binary. We'll see.

About hardware monitoring : it's a mess. Getting CPU voltages, temperatures, fan speeds, etc is not even portable across linux architectures.

Thanks for the bug report. These particular bugs have already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

The bug to request displaying human-readable hardware descriptions is bug 398036, and the bug requesting cpu temperatures, fan speeds, etc monitoring is tracked in bug 361372. Please track these two bugs and make any further comments you might have in the related bug, as I am marking this as a duplicate of bug 398036.
