GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 388104
Selling stock transaction appears as blank in cash account
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:19:19 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have a mutual fund account "A" from which I'm selling all the stocks to the cash account "B". The transaction appears correctly in the A account: Action Account Shares Price Buy Sell B 2080 Sell A -80 26.00 2080 The problem is that the amounts for the same transaction in the B account are all blank. The transaction is there, I can open the splits and see both accounts, but both amounts are empty. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
More information: - The currency for the cash account "B" is CAD - The currency for the mutual fund account A is custom (NBC861) If I create the transaction through the A account, the problem described above arises. If I create the same transaction through the B account, the currency exchange rate screen pops up. The end result is a proper transaction in both accounts. I looked at the XML for the non-working transaction and its currency ("cmdty:id") is set to USD, which is neither of the two accounts involved...
How did you enter the transaction: In the register window of one account (which one), or in the General Ledger window, or in the "Transfer" dialog?
Sorry, I didn't read comment#1 closely enough; obviously you've described this in enough detail. Seems to me this is a duplicate of bug#116353, though.
I'm having a hard time understanding bug#116353, but my bug is without a doubt a duplicate of bug#125711 which has been marked a duplicate of the bug you mentioned... So I would tend to agree with you! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 116353 ***
