crash in GnuCash Finance Management: trying to modify a split...

What were you doing when the application crashed? trying to modify a split. The transaction before, I had tried to delete a couple of splits and it said they were being edited in another window. I managed to clear them but then it would not give me a blank transaction using the enter key, the tab key nor the blank icon at icon bar.
