GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 380727
Soundjuicer will not write to USB media
Last modified: 2007-12-27 16:15:25 UTC
Please describe the problem: Sound Juicer returns a "File not found" error if I attempt to rip CDs to a USB hard drive. It writes just fine to my home directory. Yes, I have read/write access on the directory to which I am attempting to write the ripped files. Steps to reproduce: 1. Mount a USB hard drive 2. Open Sound Juicer 3. Direct Sound Juicer to write to a directory on the USB hard drive. Ensure that you have read/write access to this directory! 4. Attempt to extract a CD to a directory located on the USB device. Actual results: Soundjuicer returns an error: Sound Juicer could not extract this CD. Reason: File not found Expected results: Soundjuicer should extract the CD to the specified directory. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:
Here it works quite well, I can't reproduce the bug (Ubuntu edgy, SJ 2.16.1 and gnome-fvs 2.16.1).
Maybe the directory name/file name contains characters that are invalid on a FAT partition? (if your USB HD is using a FAT filesystem)
