Description matthew 2006-11-27 12:29:42 UTC
Would it be possible to create a flowchart and make an object/item link to another flowchart so when it is clicked on, it reveals a more detailed chart.

The idea is clicking on an object brings forward another diagram with more detail of the item clicked on.

That is indeed an oft-requested feature, along with more general linking to other documents. Haven't heard of anybody planning to implement it anytime soon, though.

One issue is how to distinguish the click-to-open from the click-to-select, click-and-drag-to-move and double-click-to-edit-properties.

I just need to be able to enter the hyperlink in the object properties and for it to exported in an svg as xlink:href for a group or object. I don't need to jump to another drawing while editing in dia. Also we use/misuse hyperlinks for a proprietary text field in svgs for displaying real-time temperatures, etc. (easy to enter in Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape).
