Description Joachim Noreiko 2006-11-06 10:16:23 UTC
When Gedit has a document open, dragging a file from Nautilus to any part of the app interface opens the new file.

However... when Gedit has no document open, dragging a file from Nautilus to the grey area (where there is normally a document displayed) does nothing.

I suspect we already have a similar bug report.
BTW, this is known problem we should try to fix in 2.18.

IIRC, pbor already gave a look at it. Right?

It's the same (well, not the same issue reported there, but the reason is the same) bug as http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350665

If the patch doesn't go in we could try to work around it in gedit itself, though ot would not be very clean I fear...
