GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 364830
Text entry does not work with focus-follows-mouse
Last modified: 2021-05-26 09:57:58 UTC
Please describe the problem: Hi, I'd like to be able to use dasher to enter text, but dasher seems to insist on writing to the currently active window, which for me is dasher, since my WM is set up to let the focus follow the mouse. If possible, dasher should decline the focus, and if not, input the text to the window that had the focus last. At least, dasher should warn (e.g. in the status bar) when it is controling itself, unless that is a valid use case. Thanks, Joachim Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
By the way, I have filed this to the debian BTS as well. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=390050
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/dasher/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
