the system is an AMD 3000 with one gb of ram and a nvidia 6100 integrated graphics chip.. it occurred while using the ubuntu edgy live cd (beta) to install during the stage where you select the time zone.. clicking on the select time zone button didn't do anything just launched the bug report tool.. might be a bug in ubuntu's install process..
