GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 363352
direct dvd copy would be nice
Last modified: 2009-07-30 07:45:45 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/nautilus-cd-burner/+bug/66804 "When I attemt to copy a dvd from one drive to another it is attemting to create an image first - and then writing the data. One of the great things in edgy is writing files on the fly to a dvd - it would be great to have this also when copying dvds."
I would think that the vast majority of people have one optical drive.
Are we even able to copy DVDs with the intermediate step? I believe it's trying to use cdrdao when you right click a DVD for copy, which is obviously not going to work.
Depends on what kind of DVD I suppose. If the DVD has an ISO9660 filesystem then yes it should work - and seems to for me. I just tried it with a FC6 DVD. If the disc was written with UDF I think it might still work since that is supposed to be a superset of ISO9600. I'm not sure.
This one is very similar to http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393497 Could one take those two together?
Could one please mark this bug as a duplicate of bug http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=393497 ? Thanks!
Not the same thing, read again. One is about removing the need for a temporary ISO image when burning files (even directly from the disc), and this one about copying discs.
I believe this is already fixed in brasero, right?
Correct. Closing as it's obsolete.
