the single-line 'after the variable' autobrief comment is *immensely* useful but there is no equivalent to `///<`  or `//!<`  for python.  how about ##<

Yes, I agree. This is without a doubt one of my favorite features of Doxygen, and yet it's not supported with Python. VHDL has the option to use --!, but no such option exists in Python.

I think that both ##! and ##< should be supported, and perhaps even ##!< to match other styles available.

Also, the bug is filed under Macintosh, but I'm using Windows XP with Doxygen 1.5.6.

As discussed in https://github.com/doxygen/doxygen/pull/734 , Doxygen has moved its issue tracking to 

   https://github.com/doxygen/doxygen/issues

All Doxygen tickets in GNOME Bugzilla have been migrated to Github. You can subscribe and participate in the new ticket in Github. You can find the corresponding Github ticket by searching for its Bugzilla ID (number) in Github.

Hence I am closing this GNOME Bugzilla ticket.
