Description Joachim Noreiko 2006-10-07 17:57:22 UTC
Select a file in nautilus. Do Copy.

Now do paste in a text context, eg in a location field, or xchat, or gedit.
The full path to the file is pasted (this is a very handy feature by the way :)
However, a newline is at the end of the path. This is bad in nearly all contexts:
in a location dialog, you get an unicode symbol that you have to remove. In xchat you get a return, which you maybe didn't want.

The posting also discusses using "uri1, ..., uriN" for multiple URIs instead of forcing newlines.
