GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 360027
Weird behavior when dragging sheet tabs around
Last modified: 2006-10-06 15:54:07 UTC
Behavior when dragging sheet tabs around is weird. This is easier to trigger on 1.6.x, but I have seen it on 1.7.x (CVS) also. Create 5 sheets: Sheet1, Sheet2, ..., Sheet5. I will just write the numbers 1 to 5 below to show what happens. Start with them in order 1 2 3 4 5. Drag 2 between 4 and 5. You get: 1 4 3 2 5. (the 4 and 2 switch places) Drag 2 between 4 and 3. It won't move. Drag it again. It will move the second time. You get: 1 4 2 3 5. Drag 2 between 3 and 5. It will move correctly: 1 4 3 2 5. Drag 2 between 1 and 4. Again you get 1 2 3 4 5. Also there is a lot of flickering and a subjective "lack of control" when dragging tabs, perhaps the drag code can be made more efficient and more forgiving.
I can't reproduce. Things work for me with both 1.6.3 and HEAD.
This was fixed sometime after 1.7.0 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 349255 ***
I tried it in latest CVS before filing the bug. I got it to do this once, but then couldn't duplicate it again. That's why I said it's easier to duplicate in 1.6.x. However I have seen it in 1.7.1cvs.
Hmm... If you can get more info, such as a stack trace or a recipe, please reopen.
