GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 358998
getting "launched" back to the last link clicked if using Find... and then clicking somewhere
Last modified: 2006-10-03 10:06:35 UTC
Please describe the problem: Maybe this problem is a bit difficult to understand. I'll describe it enterily in the steps to reproduce. Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to planet.gnome.org, or any other website. 2. Look at the top of the page. Click a random link in a blog entry. 3. Hit the back button. 4. Now you are looking at planet.gnome.org again. 5. Notice the "dotted line" around the link you just clicked. 6. Now press Ctrl+F to use "Edit -> Find..." 7. Type a search term which takes you to the middle or the bottom of the page. 8. Now click anywhere, be it a link or somewhere else on the website. 9. Notice that you are "teleported" back to the link you clicked in step 2. Actual results: Expected results: It is very annoying that if you want to click a link which you found with Ctrl+F, you get warped back to the link you clicked for the last time. This warping should not happen. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:
Although I haven't taken the time to find out how to reproduce it, I confirm I've seen this phenomenon.
Indeed, this is a duplicate of the annoying bug #335226. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 335226 ***
