After a reboot I still get the same error when I attempt to access Users and Groups.

all crashes have been provided by people having updated ubuntu edgy.
this is most likely related to a bad gtk+ 2.10.4 release, and ubuntu already has provided an update (also se bug 358405). can you please update your gtk+ and check whether this fixes this issue? thanks in advance.

oky, this bug has been fixed in cvs by matthias:
http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gtk+/gtk/gtkfilechooserbutton.c?r1=1.58&r2=1.59
and ubuntu has already provided an updated gtk+ package. everybody facing this issue please update. thanks.
