GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 355500
Option to open an existing file when another is locked.
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:12:41 UTC
This is Debian bug #345580. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=345580 I think it is very useful to have an "open file" button in the dialog that is shown if gnucash is started and another instance uses the last opened file. Sometimes I compare to files and start two instances of gnucash. The second instances shows me a dialog that tells me the default file is used by another process and I can "exit", "open it otherwise" or "create a new account". But I want to open another account. ___________________________ This is a different twist on the crash-handler issue. To reproduce, load gnucash. Load a second instance of gnucash. Bingo. The only workaround is to select "New File", cancel the new file druid and open the comparative file from the menu. A "nofile" button in the dialogue would be good, or an "open a different file" button.
