Description Neil Williams 2006-09-11 07:47:26 UTC
This is Debian bug # 383328
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=383328

Package: gnucash
Version: 2.0.1-1
Severity: minor

In a transaction report (possibly other types), if Print or Print Preview causes reformatting of the report so that it is longer than it had been (perhaps due to wrapping of Description or Memo at different places), the scroll bar in the window no longer allows scrolling all the way to the bottom of the report.

Note that this does not depend on the breaking very long lines issue, as in bug
355392.
Comment 1 Christian Stimming 2006-09-11 09:24:47 UTC
Unfortunately just as in bug#355392 this is probably caused by gtkhtml and can only be solved there, not in gnucash.

As described there, one way to solve is would be to attach a HTML file here, find a gtkhtml webbrowser, describe the problem in a way that is independent of gnucash, and change the product to GtkHtml.
Comment 2 Neil Williams 2006-09-11 10:41:44 UTC
I think you meant bug 355396 - the issue with very long lines.

As I mentioned in the Debian bug report on these issues, I suspected that the issue lay outside gnucash. Thanks for the confirmation.

Do you have a recommendation for a gtkhtml browser? Presumably there is one in some form. It would seem from this thread: http://gnomesupport.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2769
that the idea hasn't found favour.

I'll close this bug as "not gnucash" and reassign it within Debian.
Comment 3 Christian Stimming 2006-09-12 08:17:59 UTC
The gtkhtml source tarball (or at least the CVS sources) have a test program in its src/ directory called ./testgtkhtml. This is mentioned in gtkhtml's README, http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gtkhtml/README?rev=1.20&view=markup That should be enough, I think.

Thanks for the reassignment. That was fast. :-)
