GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 352747
gthumb can't open folder through file selector
Last modified: 2006-09-20 18:04:47 UTC
Gthumb produces an error when trying to open a folder with the file selector. 1. on the sidebar, select "other..." 2. select the folder to open (for me "/share/Photos/Anniv Célia (2003)") Result This error message appears: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Impossible to load folder "file:///share/Photos/Anniv%20C%C3%A9lia%20(2003)" : File not found. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= it seems gthumb wait for a path, and it receive an URI.
Confirmed here on FC5 with the gthumb-2.7.7-1 rpm. The accented character is causing the problem. The gnome file browser that the "other..." option calls seems to return a string that needs to be escaped/unescaped by gthumb. Browsing through the sidebar directly works OK, though.
Might be related to bug #352395.
Confirming bug, but reducing severity to "normal", because the workaround is trivial. Just browse using the "Filesystem" sidebar entry.
fixed now in current CVS, thanks.
