GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 349305
Polypaudio is renamed to PulseAudio
Last modified: 2007-02-02 17:01:28 UTC
Please describe the problem: GStreamer-Properties is probing for "polypsink/polypsrc" elements. These are no longer available. "pulsesink" and "pulsesrc" are the new names of these elements. Steps to reproduce: Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Created attachment 69907 [details] [review] s/polyp./pulse. No backward compatibility in this patch (probably unnecessary)
I took the liberty to commit this since it was approved.
We'd like to change the name to "PulseAudio Sound Server" only in control-center, dropping the spurious "Pulse - " at the beginning (see bug 394003), and the same treatment would be nice for gstreamer-properties as well. Any objections from the gnome-media crowd?
Yeah sure, who added that anyway? :-).
Created attachment 81715 [details] [review] rename to "PulseAudio Sound Server" Great. Not sure if you want a patch, but here it is anyway.
Good for my patch statistics. :-).
Yeah, it's just that it does not fit with the rest of the list :) (and "Pulse" is a S. King virus, for the record)
The other entries are well-established acronyms. Pulse isn't. Patch committed and string change announcement sent.
