esd should not be mandatory on GNOME. 
We should provide a way to subsitute it easily.

This bug has been reported by Benoit Boissinot (http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnomemeeting-devel-list/2005-February/msg00044.html)
but has not been integrated so far, as I can see.

Please accept this patch. It work at least on Dapper. 
A review is needed.

That's finally applied in HEAD and the H_Release branch. Sorry for the delay and thanks for the patch to both of you!
