Please describe the problem:
The download pages (frontpage and the download page itself) are inconsistent in the information they're providing. The description level of downloading files should be similar to what the download page provides.

In particular, the frontpage shouldn't prominently link to the tarballs with the XML source files since these are useless for most users.

I would suggest that the first section "Download our Latest Release" is removed. There are already two link to the Downloads page, so that should be sufficient. The download of the source files should only be suggested to potential contributors, so it could perhaps be added to the "Help Us" page.

I'll revamp the frontpage. The download link to the xml files is for our users misleading.
