Steps to reproduce:
Click on File/Open in any program that uses GtkFileChooser and it's aborted with the following error:

Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_file_system_path_to_uri: assertion `path != NULL' failed
aborting...
gimp: terminated: Aborted
