GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 346731
Evolution mail composer needlesly capitalizes email addresses when autocompletion is enabled
Last modified: 2006-07-11 19:16:45 UTC
Please describe the problem: When auto-completion of email addresses is enabled, and a new email being typed starts by matching a name that can be auto-completed, and said name being properly capitalized, and the auto-completed name not being the correct email address, then when I continue to type in the address, the auto-completed name is removed, but any capitalization applied as part of the auto-complete matching remains, and the only way to fix it is *after* completing the email address to go back and change just the affected characters. Steps to reproduce: 1. Add a contact with an email address. 2. Start a new email message. 3. Type in the first name of the contact in the "to" address in all lower case. 4. after typing the first name, type '@' and continue with a different domain name. Actual results: If I'm trying to type 'oded@geek.co.il', instead the "to" address now contains 'Oded@geek.co.il' Expected results: I would expect that when auto-complete fails, it will revert the text to exactly how it was before auto-complete started, including capitalization, so if I start by typing 'oded', and then continue to type '@geek.co.il', then the result would be 'oded@geek.co.il'. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
