GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 345939
docs.gimp.org should provide a note about reporting spelling errors
Last modified: 2006-07-10 12:16:35 UTC
The project site and/or the manual should provide a small description on how people can report spelling errors. That would probably be filing a bug report. Seems that most readers are unaware of using the gnome bugzilla.
Do you really want to require readers of the manual to get a bugzilla account in order to report a spelling error? What about simply providing an email address for this purpose?
Sven you're right. Filing a bug by an anonymous person makes no sense (even if he's possible to file a bug anonymously). I'll add a note about reporting spelling errors to a single email address.
A bugzilla account is certainly overkill for occasional typos, but if someone wants to do in-depth checks for some pages (as in 'web page'), it could be useful. The note should mention this, provided that you agree with me.
I agree with you Michael, but haven't added the note. I think if someone sends a lot of in-depth bugfixes for typos, I should still be able to ask him, if he can file a bug report for that. Resolving this bug as FIXED. 2006-07-10 Roman Joost <romanofski@gimp.org> * web/downloads.xml: updated PDFs list by Axels recompilation for most PDFs * web/help.xml: added note to send small bugfixes to romanofski@gimp.org.
