GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 345929
When playing back files that are still being written totem only plays back a fixed chunk of the video
Last modified: 2007-03-20 23:40:13 UTC
Please describe the problem: If I record video from my TV tuner card to a file and try to watch it in totem while it is still recording totem will only playback the file to the point in the file that was being written when totem first opened the file. It would be mucher nicer if totem could automatically detect that the file is changing and change to a streaming mode of indefinite length where the end of the file is considered the end of the video rather that the time of the video when totem first opened. Steps to reproduce: 1. cat /dev/video > somefile.mpg 2. Start playing the file back with totem somefile.mpg Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
This as more to do with the backend than Totem itself. Which backend were you using, and can you still reproduce the problem?
