Description David Wilson 2006-06-20 06:29:58 UTC
The Account Summary reports seems generally OK but no final total is produced.

I have used the default options as well has trying many other variants to no effect.

I can supply the account file if it is needed.

If you have a sample account file that you could attach here as attachment, then that would help, yes. Also, it would help if you added a screenshot of both your option settings and the resulting report, for an option setting where you expected a "total" line to show up. In any case, I would expect the Account Summary report should have a total -- it surely had one in 1.8.x.

Confirming this bug -- the new account summary report since http://svn.gnucash.org/trac/changeset/10434 doesn't have a summary line anymore, but it should get one again. Discussion whether the newer account summary report should be reverted to the old one is ongoing.

For the time being, you can get a summary line only in the balance sheet report.
Comment 7 Wm 2016-03-26 22:15:36 UTC
triage: given the age of this, the fact that the Account Summary is a little idiosyncratic to this day and that those wanting a more conventional POV can use a Balance Sheet view (of which we have at least two) I suggest this should no longer be NEW; specifically in accounting terms I think the eguile BS covers what the Account Summary may have been intended for
