GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 344048
Topbar Keyboard menu navigation problem
Last modified: 2006-06-06 18:59:47 UTC
Please describe the problem: Once you enter the topbar menu using only keyboard, you can't get out. Using official shortcuts: http://www.gnome.org/learn/users-guide/latest/keyboard-skills.html Pressing Ctrl-Alt(left)-Tab you can select the top bar, if you enter the topbar menu, using only keys, pressing "Esc" doesn't get you out. You can't use Ctrl-Alt(left)-Tab to get out either. If you only have keyboard, you feel trapped. Steps to reproduce: 1.push Ctrl-Alt(left) and press Tab until you get the top bar. 2.Use left and rigth arrows until you get the menu bar.The menu is expanded. 3.Now you can't exit it without using the pointer.(Alt-Tab) doesn't work, either Ctrl-Alt(left)-Tab do, you can't select the righter icons on the bar. Actual results: You can't return to work without a pointer. If you select a program with the keyboard, the topbar menu doesn't return control to you. Only solution is to exit and re-enter session... Expected results: I would expect to be able to press "Esc" and exit the menu. Why? Because it's very simple to do and make gnome suitable for "only keyboards" enviroments, or just for people who preffer to use the keyboards.(it's much faster) Does this happen every time? Other information: If you read this, thanks for listening.
Created attachment 66841 [details] topbar example in the screenshot, once you enter in menu "Aplicaciones Lugares Sistema" with keyboard, you can't exit with it.
