Description Penelope Fudd 2006-06-06 16:32:49 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 5 (Bordeaux)
Package: Evolution
Severity: enhancement
Version: GNOME2.14.1 unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc
Synopsis: It would be nice if the 'from' address could be set based on the 'to' address
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
Description:
Please describe your feature request:
I have several email addresses, used for different mailing lists.
When composing a message, I sometimes forget to pick the email address
the message should be from. As many mailing lists reject messages from people who are not
subscribed, this can be a problem.

It would be neat if I could write rules that set my 'from' address as
soon a I enter the 'to' address, when composing a new message. The reply function
already handles this correctly.

Thanks!

Duplicate of bug 253600, but the follow-up comment there appears to be a good reason to have potentially reopened. So I'll just leave this one open.

sounds like bug 215161 to me, what do you think?
Comment 3 pfudd 2006-06-08 13:45:22 UTC
Bug-buddy should check the mostfreq list, or else people will keep on reporting the same things over and over, driving developers to distraction... :-)
Comment 4 André Klapper 2006-07-02 20:42:18 UTC
pfudd: afaik, there is work going on with regard to that issue.

I added related functionality within a fix for bug #215115, thus I mark this as a duplicate of it.
