Description Paolo Benvenuto 2006-05-28 19:50:04 UTC
The menu command "remove tnx splits" isn't traduced correctly to spanish, where it reads "eliminar anotaciones del asiento".

Should be "eliminar desgloses (de la transacción)"
Comment 1 Elijah Newren 2006-06-01 02:28:00 UTC
(Bug report is about GnuCash)
Comment 2 Javier F. Serrador 2006-06-01 11:44:32 UTC
gnu cash is not in Gnome Translation Project. We cannot fix it for now.
Comment 3 Elijah Newren 2006-06-01 14:24:12 UTC
Ah, maybe I shouldn't have reassigned to l10n then? I'll reassign back. Sorry for the noise everyone.
Comment 4 Eneko Lacunza 2006-07-05 20:21:44 UTC
I think the translation is OK (both are ok, but I think the current one is more consistent with the rest of the translation).

Donpaolo, could you explain why you think it should be changed? The current translation does the following:

to split (action) -> desglosar
a split (noun) -> anotación

Thanks a lot.
Comment 5 Paolo Benvenuto 2006-07-06 01:48:45 UTC
I'm not native spanish, I have been speaking spanish for 8 years, but "anotación" let me think in the action of annotating something.

The txn splits are the component of the txn according to the accounts which the txn refers to.

I'd better traduce "split" as "componente del asiento", "parte del asiento".
Comment 6 Christian Stimming 2006-07-12 08:19:34 UTC
If I understand correctly then the question here is not about one particular dialog message but rather about the general translation of "a split (noun)". I'd like to remind everyone that this is what the glossary/es.po is meant for. Anyway, it's up to Eneko to submit any changes or to leave it as is.
Comment 7 Eneko Lacunza 2006-07-12 18:54:10 UTC
You're right Christian. I'm currently discussing this in the spanish gnucash user list, to see what people think about this issue. It seems that maybe "a split (noun)" could be translated to spanish as "desglose", which is not so technical as "anotación" and has the property of having the same root as the verb "to split" -> "desglosar".

Donpaolo, what do you think about this proposal? (I've sent you a copy of the original suggestion by mail). Do you think that "desglose" would be clearer than "anotación"?
Comment 8 Paolo Benvenuto 2006-07-14 01:03:37 UTC
Desglose would be perfect!
Comment 9 Eneko Lacunza 2006-07-18 20:02:17 UTC
Hi,

Just sent an updated translation to Christian by mail, that changes the translation of "(transaction) split" to "desglose (de asiento)". Christian, please resolve this bug when new .po file is commited to svn.

Donpalo, you'll be able to test the new translation *when Christian resolves this bug*, downloading and installing in your system the following file:

http://svn.gnucash.org/trac/browser/gnucash/trunk/po/es.po

Thanks a lot for your suggestion; please feel free to provide more suggestions and errors!! :)
Comment 10 Christian Stimming 2006-08-14 10:10:21 UTC
The updated translation has already been in included in 2.0.1. A download can be done from here:
http://svn.gnucash.org/trac/browser/gnucash/branches/2.0/po/es.po

(note the branches/2.0 instead of trunk!)
