Description Benoît Dejean 2006-05-25 14:42:34 UTC
Hi, i'm using file-roller 2.14.2.
I've downloaded http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/gregkh/ddk/ddk-2.6.16.18.iso.bz2 which is compressed iso file. It's 92MiB compressed, 300MiB uncompressed, 470MiB extracted.

1) opening the file shows that it contains a single iso file. It should instead display the content of that iso file (just like a tar.bz2). Opening/listing the uncompressed iso is fast. Opening a single file is fast.
2) extracting files is slow ! It's very CPU intensive to extract all files from the uncompressed iso file. It takes ages where mount+cp is quite fast.
2bis) maybe what we need is the ability to mount loopback filesystems with pmount ?

It's an old bug and I don't think it's a problem anymore.
If you experience again these symptoms please reopen.
