GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 342441
LDAP server preferences window doesn't save values properly
Last modified: 2006-09-07 05:31:41 UTC
Please describe the problem: I can add new LDAP server to Contacts and provide Auth. details and configure it, but I should restart Evolution every time I change DN or other Authentification details, and even more, they don't get saved usually first time, they are reverted back when I open dialog again and only after few times changes gets saved. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Evolution, then choose Contacts 2. Click in the space under "On LDAP servers" with right click, choose "New Address Book" 3. Provide type "On LDAP servers", choose name, give host or IP adress, choose correct secure connection setting, etc. 4. In Authentification part, choose "Using DN" type and provide string for authentification. 5. Choose OK 6. First bug is Evolution won't provide password dialog until you would restarted it. Only fresh restart of app and going to "Contacts" part gives posibility to provide password. 7. Second bug is that when I choose to open properties window for this server again, and choose to change Authentification, it won't change it in first time. And it won't provide password dialog if I have changed DN or Authentification method to email adress. Actual results: I have to restart Evolution to provide new password in the case of change DN or other Authentification setting in LDAP server properties dialog. I have to change settings twice to get them accepted and not to be changed back when I open properties dialog again. Expected results: In case of Authentification change, new password dialog should be issued unless using anonymous connection and settings should be saved in first try, no after two three times. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
