here's exactly what i did...  i did it again and got the same results...

1: made a new page from a template.  1024x768
2: used the rectangle selection tool to pick out a rectangle
3: hit stroke selection
4: tried to do so with stroke width of three pixels
5: when i hit okay, it crashed.

i just tried it again but stroking with the paintbrush...  it crashed again.

Do you have GAIM and its GTK+ installed? Did you read the FAQ for
GIMP for windows?

i do not have gaim installed, but i think that i am using gaim's GTK...

yes i did read the faq...  is there something there that i overlooked?
