GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 341407
Gedit crashes on files with long lines
Last modified: 2006-05-14 11:51:57 UTC
When opening a file with very long lines, lets say 10KB per line, gedit either crashes, or becomes extreamly slow. If you by using some script breaks the file on shorter lines, gedit opens it smoothly. I guess gedit or panga calculates the linebreaks everytime it updates the screen. Maybe it should only do that, when resizing the window?
