For the Quicken wallet checks with side stub, there isn't a limit to the length of the Note/Memo printed on the check. Memo lengths > about 30 will  print into the space immediately above the signature line.

Patch (to be submitted imminently) limits these memos to <28 characters.

This can certainly wait until after 2.0 unless it is convenient to add it now.

A little too sparse with the first description: The patch limits the memo length by truncating the memo to 27 characters when it prints the check. The Note field in the register is left untouched, and the user gets no warning that the truncation will happen.
