Description spacewar 2006-04-29 20:25:31 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Running Mathematica 5.2 causes the panel to stop working. The window
menu/selector and show desktop no longer do anything. Right-click on panel
still brings up the panel menu, but most functions, such as adding another panel
applet, will cause the panel to freeze completely.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start a GNOME session
2. Start Mathematica 5.2
3. Try to use the window menu/selector

Actual results:
Panel stops working

Expected results:
Panel should work as normal

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
Using the -noSplashScreen command line option to Mathematica seems to avoid this
problem. However, an application splash screen should not cause the panel to break.
