GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 339484
Gthumb 2.7.5.1 doesn't store EXIF information in JPEG files, when image is loaded directly
Last modified: 2006-05-08 18:02:24 UTC
On a Gentoo Linux system, I installed Gthumb 2.7.5.1. I then opened an image (first file I'll attach) from Nautilus by double clicking on it. Gthumb started and showed the image. In the "File" menu, there's the option "Go to the image folder". I saved the image which I just loaded (it's the 2nd file I'll attach). The image which I just saved, has NO EXIF information anymore. When I open an image (like the 1st attached file) from within the Gthumb "Image Folder" and save it, the EXIF information *IS* kept (see 3rd attached file). I'd expect that either the EXIF information is *ALWAYS* kept or *NEVER*. I'd like to ALWAYS keep the EXIF information (or maybe an *option* to dump it would be nice as well).
Created attachment 64156 [details] Original image - WITH EXIF That's the original image. It has all the EXIF information.
Created attachment 64157 [details] Image, when stored directly - NO EXIF That's the image as created by Gthumb. It has no EXIF information.
Created attachment 64158 [details] Image, when stored after having opened from Image Folder - with EXIF That's the image Gthumb has created, after I opened the image from the image folder. It has EXIF information.
fixed in current CVS, thanks.
