Description Bac9.net 2006-04-20 00:27:47 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When using an IMAP account no customua¾‘°‚|”ûU™Ãe (created with another
e-mail client) can be seen under INBOX. Selecting/deselecting "show only
subscribed folders" has no effect. When going to Folders -> Subscriptions, and
selecting any IMAP server, the folder selection area has "The store does not
support subscriptions, or the are not enabled".

When using Mozilla Thunderbird and subscribing/unsubscribing to any of the
custom created folders, those folders subscribed and only those folders
subscribed can then be seen in Evolution, no matter what "show only subscribed
folders" is set to. Evolution still displays "The store does not support
subscriptions, or the are not enabled".

Removing ~/.evolution, ~/.gconf, `/.gconfd and recreating all accounts from
scratch has no effect.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Using another e-mail client create folders under INBOX (make sure no folders
are subscribed)
2. Add IMAP account in Evolution
3. Toggle "show only subscribed folders"
4. Observe Folders -> Subscriptions
5. Observe (lack of) custom folders under INBOX
6. Using another e-mail client subscribe to custom folders
7. Observe Folders -> Subscriptions
8. Observe custom folders under INBOX

Actual results:
After #2,#3 no custom folders seen
After #6 only subscribed folders seen

Expected results:
All custom folders seen when "show only subscribed folders" is deselected
Observe Folders -> Subscriptions shows all folders that can be subscribed

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Is this still an issue in 2.22 or 2.24? If so, please reset from NEEDINFO and update the version field.
Comment 6 Bac9.net 2009-01-24 19:40:54 UTC
This is partially still an issue in 2.22:
Folders -> Subscriptions: now lists all subscribable folders (fixed)
"show only subscribed folders" checkbox (for the account): has no effect on which folders are shown until evolution restart (even refreshing the parent folder doesn't add/remove subfolders).

Expected Behaviour:
if "show only subscribed folders" is checked -> show only subscribed folders in sidebar (preferably immediately or at least when clicking "Refresh" on parent folder)
if "show only subscribed folders" is unchecked -> show all folders in sidebar (preferably immediately or at least when clicking "Refresh" on parent folder)

Comment 8 Matthew Barnes 2013-08-19 14:51:46 UTC
Closing as OBSOLETE since this was filed against the legacy IMAP backend which was retired in 3.8. Reopen if this issue is still present in Evolution 3.8 or later.
