GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 337737
remember the window position, size, and pane positions
Last modified: 2008-10-11 10:34:38 UTC
PiTiVi forgets everything you did to the user interface since the last time. This is very frustrating (and confusing for newbies, eventually) because before doing anything productive with PiTiVi, you have to stretch the windows, stretch the panes, and adjust everything neatly. On every startup, PiTiVi looks like this: http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/4944/pitividefaultnormal3yt.png Other information: Maybe this could be saved in gconf? These settings are pretty simple.
Please don't save position of the window. This creates only problems with other window managers beside Metacity.
Hmm indeed, don't remember the position of the main window itself, but the position of the widgets inside. Or the floating components, if those exist someday.
So we can close this bug ?
Hm, I found out there's an perhaps related problem. - maximize window - press fullscreen - press fullscreen again - the window isn't longer in maximized mode, it's in normal size mode Perhaps this is a problem related to my WM (Enlightenment 0.17). Or is this a new bug?
the - main window size - pane positions - maximization state are still not saved in trunk, I don't think this bug report should be closed. Andreas: I think the maximization state simply does not work at all. I remember it working at some point in the past, but it does not in my trunk. Ed?
maximization works and has always worked AFAIK. I've just tried maximizing and fullscreen on trunk and I have no issues.
where are pitivi's user settings saved, so I can take a look?
> "maximization works and has always worked AFAIK. I've just tried maximizing and fullscreen on trunk and I have no issues." I need to clarify things here as there seems to be a bit of confusion from my comment #5: the problem is not that pitivi can't maximize/fullscreen, the problem is that nothing is remembered.
