"I create launchers of type 'link' on my Desktop to files which I use frequently. If I right click on these there is no option to choose the application with which I want to open the file. It would be excellent if the right-click context menu had the same 'Open With' options as the file linked to."

This seems to work fine now in 2.23.4. Closing as OBSOLETE. Feel free to reopen the bug if this is still an issue, thanks.
